Energy Centre

Advit Foundation, at the Energy Centre brings together communities, industries and government. Through various activities workshops, training programmes and awareness drives the Energy Centre promotes energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate mitigation (carbon neutral options) and environment friendly technologies for benefit of civil society as well as business establishments through activities initiated at the Center. The target of this Centre is promoting carbon neutrality among corporates as well as individuals in Gurgaon region.

Advit manages a solar information centre at the National Institute for Solar Energy, MNRE at Gwal Pahari near Gurgaon. It is also the training partner of Electronic Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) under NSDC and Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation (HARTRON) to undertake solar electrical training programmes. Advit was the managing partner with HAREDA, running the Rajiv Gandhi Energy Park (RGEP)Gurgaon, from 2006 to 2015

The solar electrical training programme is a skill upgradation initiative targeted at the students from vocational and engineering institutes across the country. It is a strategic intervention in supporting the National Solar Mission by preparing and sensitizing the youth towards solar energy technology. The training programme covers the basics of solar photovoltaic system design, installation and maintenance with a special emphasis on economics and entrepreneurship. Classroom sessions are undertaken to impart theoretical knowledge and practical training is imparted by means of indigenously developed, portable, training kits. Site visits and guest lectures from industry experts are also incorporated in the programme.

Initiatives of the Energy Centre

  • Capacity building, awareness programmes and skills development for students, citizens/ RWAs & corporate co-workers on energy efficiency and renewable energy including providing platform for demonstrating new technologies and innovations.
  • Designing and undertaking skill upgradation programme on solar electrical.
  • Working with industry to enable them to adopt newer and cleaner technologies, gain energy efficiencies and designing and implementing a sustainable development strategy.
  • Enable corporate houses to become environmentally responsible by helping them devise CSR strategies focused on renewable energy areas and help implement the same.
  • Provide a platform for technology innovators for information sharing and finding market linkages.
